Biomass boiler fuel feeding system has been a problem such as conveying system output is not enough for the boiler consumption, feeding system jam, the fuel cannot be fed into the boiler stably, silo problem, etc. Our company invented a special technology and effectively solved the above problem.
Palm empty fruit bunches (after palm fruit threshing) with diameter ¢ 300~600mm, the center rod ¢ 40~100mm, 55% water content, containing a variety of salts, including chlorides, also with lower ash fusion point. According to these characteristics, we have adopted joint grate (the reciprocating grate plus chain grate) combustion boiler. The water content of the empty fruit bunches can be reduced to less than 25% after the dehydration machine. The center rod is wholly smashed and sent to the fuel bunker through conveyor without further crushing, and then forced into the feeding outlet of boiler by feeders. The fuel is pre-heated on the reciprocating grate and then fully combusted on the chain grate after drying out.
Palm shell size is massive, relatively dry, hard and brittle with dark brown color. The calorific value is 18395.1kJ/kg by testing the sample. Basically no residue in the combustion and few ashes, the shell can be fully burn. Circulating fluidized bed boiler or chain boiler will be good choices.
Palm kernel is brown granular with water content of about 8%, the heat value of 14519.4 kJ/kg, ash melting point 1050degree centigrade, suitable for circulating fluidized bed boiler combustion.
If the fuel is mixed by several kinds of palm wastes, according to each fuel characteristics and mixing proportion, we will design and choose the most suitable type of boiler.
